Ranking, say what now?

3rd of September, the advisers of Section Graham Bell and Archimedes announced its top twenty achievers. Some were happy but some also were disappointed of the results. And with that, I noticed some changes and awkwardness with the people who were not happy with the results. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THEM. I am really, really disappointed with humans right now, if they were not happy they should have done their very best to be at a higher rank than what they have now. They should have been more satisfied, or whatever.
Changes and lessons: When friends consider each other as a competition. They talk behind their backs and do stuffs that can risk the friendship they have. It's just sad how people would change over a ranking of honors. Like what the hell, your rank does not define who you are. And this goes with your grades, i.e. what the hell would you do with a high grade if you know in yourself that you weren't honest enough to deserve it. Especially in our generation, copying and cheating is considered as art.
To be honest, I am disappointed with everyone right now. If it would not have been for the ranking of honors then nothing would ever change. I know this was supposed to motivate others but this just cause a "riot" on every student. Why wouldn't they just recognize the achievers and refrain from ranking students from 1st to whatever. WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS WHAT I FEEL RIGHT NOW.
I just want everyone to remember that the ranks and grades in school is not the only and most important thing that matters but your determination, persistence and willingness to succeed is. And doing your very best and not losing hope when failure comes face-to-face with you is the least we can do to be satisfied with whatever that may come.
